Since moving to Sweden i’ve often wondered why it’s always so much harder to qualify for a tournament such as the Electronic Sports World Cup for certain nations in certain games. As some of you may or may not know, when i’m not sitting on my ass playing games or watching youtube (it’s like crack I tell ya!) I write for a website called Gaming Junky and this topic really interested me so I wrote an article about it! I covered the games of Quake World – Quake 4, Unreal Tournament 99 – Unreal Tournament 2004, Painkiller and I have also briefly touched on Counter Strike 1.6 and Starcraft.

I really can’t stress enough that when I was writing this article I only took in to account 1 versus 1 international tournaments. Many Quake 2 players have whined to me saying that the statistcs are borked and that Finland, Poland and Sweden deserve many more medals but that’s for tournaments like the European Dual League which pretty much speaks for itself that it’s European only… I was looking at tournaments that was attended by at least both  European and USA players!
