Got Questions?

Ok so recently i’ve had a request for MORE videos however being so busy with stuff, I haven’t got the time to sit down and think what to make one about! Instead i’m going to be lazy and let YOU tell ME what to make one about!
This is gonna be the “Ask Liefje” segment so you can either post your questions here (nothing R18 please) or email them to me. You can ask anything (gaming or non-gaming related) and if it’s not too crazy (like how to explain limited slip differential in a car) i’ll make a vid answering it!
New hair

Last week I went to get my hair cut and decided to order some hair extensions while I was at it. I’d love to have highlights in my hair however the dye really damages it so extensions were a good answer. They finally arrived from Italy and I was able to get them put in today!

I know how emo the pic is, I hate to take pictures of myself, I always feel rediculous and it reminds me of some of my friends that do it constantly for reasons I have no clue of. However when I asked PURRI to take the pic he was so suck at it! A baby could take a better pic haha.
And this is how the extensions were put in my hair:

I asked where they actually came from since it was real human hair. I half expected them to say “dead bodies” or something. Actually it comes from girls in India. Before a girl in India is married, she never cuts her hair. Then when she does marry she cuts off all her hair, which is how the extensions can come in such long lengths. So i’ve got a married Indian woman’s hair. About 1000kg of hair is cut off every day and then it’s sent to Italy. The company then treats it and colours it and ships it to wherever.
I guess i’m part Indian now? eheh
GO TEAM NZ!

So the America’s Cup racing kicked off last week and NZ have had a great start. I wasn’t really able to watch the Louis Vuitton Cup because sailing isn’t really big in Sweden and they only really televised the races where Sweden was in. Since NZ won the Louis Vuitton cup they aren’t showing the America’s Cup on TV!
I’ve had to make do by listening to audio streams on the America’s Cup website.
The America’s cup is a sailing race that is held once every 4 years so it’s kinda like the olympics of sailing! Many people think it’s boring but it’s actually really exciting to watch. The winner of the cup gets to host the next event in their home country. In 1995 New Zealand brought it home and four years ago was the first time it has been taken away from them since then. Switzerland’s Alinghi beat them and now (since Switzerland is landlocked) the races are held in Valencia, Spain.
As expected, New Zealand won the Louis Vuitton Cup (kind of like the qualifier cup) so they are now competing against the defending champions Alinghi. Alinghi won the first race but NZ tied it up 1 - 1 last Sunday. The winner is the first team that wins 5 races. Today was another race and after a few hours of delay it kicked off.
It was one of the best races ever! NZ started off with a huge 300m lead but Alinghi caught up. By the third leg Alinghi was in the lead! It looked sad for team NZ but they were able to pull it together and win the race! It’s now at 2 - 1 for New Zealand and I can’t wait for the next one! WOOO bring the America’s cup back to NZ!!

Old Skool

What do many people do when bored? Google themselves of course! I decided to google my old gaming name, wondering how much e-attention I had back when I was living in New Zealand and before the whole Home of Chrome shenanigans.
Besides finding a bunch of bondage websites and a couple of people using my nickname on random forums I found a lot of stuff to do with the team I used to play CTF and TDM for! They were the top team in Australia and New Zealand and they never forgot about me even after I broke up with my ex and he booted me from the team. Aww:
“…the most beautiful and yet highskilled #1 chick to play UT2004 for *dx, we all thank you for playing in alot of matches/games for *dx - what could we’ve done without having a chick playing UT for *dx”
Don’t get me wrong, I was also in the girlz 0f destruction during the time I was playing for *dx but being 32095840295 kilometeres away from them meant I couldn’t play the team games I loved with the girlz.
I was also reminded of some achievements I made in UT2004 that I kind of forgot about! Like losing to Lauke at the GameSpot challenge at E3 2005. I still managed to come 3rd place that day and won a gaming steering wheel
I also found out that I was pretty known in the New Zealand gaming scene and even after I changed my nickname people would still refer to the old one. There was even a little mention on a New Zealand news site about the NZers going to ESWC last year and I was mentioned since I was coaching the g0d UK cs team! Hahaa!
ESWC Sweden videos

Last weekend the ESWC Qualifiers for Sweden in Quake 4 were held. At first it wasn’t looking too exciting as some of Sweden’s most renowned talent had not signed up. At the very last minute though, the names of toxic, fojji and fooki were added. This led to the anticipation of many exciting games – and boy did the participants in this tournament put on some fantastic games!
I know you may be thinking that it’s just a qualifier, nothing too exciting. Sweden has a lot of great talent in many games, including Quake and Counter Strike. Many people do believe that Sweden is one of the most difficult country to qualify for tournaments from, simply because of the abundance of talent.
It was fantastic to see toxic back in action and as usual he did not fail to deliver. He made it through the entire qualifier without dropping a map. The finals against fojji were pretty spectacular to see from just a qualifier event. There was a lot of talent there and I managed to interview some players from the event. Read on to view the interviews.

ESWC Sweden
Posted on June 2nd, 2007 at 11:43 pm by Liefje
For some crazy reason I decided to wake up at the insane hour of 9:00 to attend the ESWC Sweden Quake 4 qualifier. I’m really glad I did. Even though I went to SNL LAN finals last week since it was only 4 competitors it didn’t really have the feel of a real tournament. Today there were many people there to try and get a spot at the ESWC finals and there were so many great games to watch.
The day started with madness that didn’t just include the 9am start. It continued when I got on the train. This random guy comes up to me and asks to use my cellphone. Of course I said it was fin. He told me he needed to call his girlfriend. He was looking really frustrated and tried her number several times. He thanked me for letting him use my phone even though he couldn’t get through to her. Totally normal up to now. Then he rants to me for almost the entire train ride about how much he hates his girlfriend. He starts telling me stories about how “psycho jealous” she is. Uhh, what are you supposed to say to that?
The day got way better though and it was so sunny and beautiful outside. The tournament ran so smoothly - a huuuge thanks to Dronar for being admin for the tournament. There were so many great and intense games to watch. This is just part of what I miss about being at tournaments.
I even got to make a robot pizza!

It’s mad because there was no ice cream.
It was fantastic to see toxic playing again. That guy is just the perfect role-model to all professional gamers. He’s got like the greatest sportsmanship and presents himself so modestly. Who would have thought that a bright green guy on your screen could be so freakin’ intimidating. It was also great to see fooki playing in a tournament. Although I know he hasn’t been pracitcing much it’s just good to see him in action.
