There’s no violence in prisons, just musical theater!

Now that’s just great womaning
Posted on July 23rd, 2007 at 8:09 pm by Liefje

So i’ve lived in this apartment for like 3 months now. When we first moved in we fixed up most of the essential stuff but there was still things lacking such as more lights in the main room and more wardrobe space. I’ve basically had my clothes all over the place and in storage simply because of the lack of places to put them. With PURRI being a raging metrosexual he also has a large amount of clothing and accessories.

This weekend I finally got around to doing what needs to be done. I even bought an awesome new drill:

New Drill!

Where else but Sweden can you buy a drill with freakin’ pirates on it?! Feeling like those chicks in the satisfaction video I got to work and put in a new pole for hanging clothes in the wardrobe. To my dismay the wardrobe was concrete and I could not use my super-awesome-pirate-but-could-be-mistaken-for-emo drill. It didn’t come with drill heads either so right now it’s just an electric screwdriver. But nevermind, my womaning instincts kicked in and I had to make a new home for my clothes! Using superglue (yes superglue) I was able to put in a new pole. Ok i’m not super stupid and I know that superglue actually won’t hold kilograms of clothing but I was in luck: The pole was sized to fit PERFECTLY in the wardrobe. I mean just perfectly. I had to hammer it to get it straight but due to the tight fit it would actually hold itself up - and it has been all weekend - hah! Push me, and then just touch me, ’till I can get my, satisfaction:

Liviafaction

I am still yet to buy some drill heads so I can install these awesome new lights I bought for above the couch so I can actually read books in here! The books I will be reading will be swedish childrens books but hey, i’ve got to start somewhere right?

Edit: HAHAH oh dear seems like my drill isn’t the craziest one out there.

Beware of RSI!
Posted on July 21st, 2007 at 6:32 pm by Liefje

Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) is a disorder which has been around for a long time. Sports stars get it, assembly line workers get it and even pianists and guitar players were known to suffer from it. Recently, RSI has become more well-known amongst computer users. It is a subject that I am very concerned about because I suffer from it mildly.

I have written an extensive article about RSI and I would really appreciate it if you took the time to read it because I know some people (especially gamers) who do start to show symptoms of it and don’t do anything about it! Click here to read the article.

Before I left for Paris for the ESWC finals I also wrote an article about the history of Versailles. Go on, read it here!

I’m a moron
Posted on July 14th, 2007 at 8:09 pm by Liefje

Some of you may find it hard to believe but I am indeed a moron. Right now I should be in Amsterdam on my way to Sensation black. The Sensation events are something that I have always wanted to attend and I missed the opportunity last year so of course I should have taken it this year. I don’t know how much longer I will be living in Europe and I feel that when I return I won’t be young enough to enjoy something like Sensation as much as I would now.

Sure, Sensation have their world tour but nothing compares to the show that is put on at the Amsterdam Arena. I feel like such an idiot for missing it. The only reason I missed it was because I couldn’t get anyone from Sweden to come with me, not even Mikael who I offered to pay for the trip (it would’ve only cost €150 overall). What the hell, what is up with all these boring Swedish people that don’t want to do something fun for a weekend? Ok I don’t really mean that but seriously, it’s SENSATION!!

Sweden would never have a kickass party like this. In fact, the clubs in Sweden totally suck. They are basically only good for one thing. Sweden really a happening place but its a good base in Europe. It would be ideal if I could live in the Netherlands though. Despite the shit weather and insanely expensive housing I think I would love it there. I’ve met so many cool Dutch people over the years through gaming that i’m convinced that they’re the people that I get along with the best. Or maybe i’ve just been lucky, who knows.

Anyway im going to torture myself all night youtubing videos of the event i’m missing as we speak :( hehe kidding but heres the trailer for anyone thats wondering what Sensation is!

ESWC was so awesome!!
Posted on July 11th, 2007 at 7:36 pm by Liefje

Ok I got back from ESWC in Paris a couple of days ago but I have only a few minutes to update now. I’m busy working on getting the video interviews I did all edited and uploaded :)

I did an interview about the upcoming ProGAM3R magazine I am working for, if you’re interested you can check it out here.

There are many pictures and such going around and i’m yet to download the pictures from my camera but i’ll post some of my favourites other people took here now:

Oh and before Paris Richard “_evan” Armstrong wrote a nice article about gaming journalism. This also included a short interview with me. Click here to read the article or click here to go straight to the interview.

ESWC Tomorrow!
Posted on July 3rd, 2007 at 10:35 pm by Liefje

Ok the event doesn’t start tomorrow but i’m leaving for it tomorrow! I’m super excited because ESWC has always been a fun event. Also i’ll be meeting up with a bunch of people who I haven’t seen for an entire year — since ESWC last year!

I can’t wait to see everyone and I hope everyone makes it there safe and sound (if they’re not there already). If you wanna see some preview pics of the venue you can look here.

I’ll try and make some updates from the event but i’ll probably be having too much fun to bother ;) But you will all be updated when I get home, I promise!

Ciao!!
