I know it’s been a while since my last update but to be fair, things have been really crazy on my end so I haven’t really thought about letting you all know what’s up with me now. Well first things first, I have finally left Sweden! After 3 years there, it was kind of a bittersweet goodbye. But I haven’t gone back to New Zealand, i’ve actually moved to Germany! I am living about 50km north of Frankfurt. I left a few days after New Year, the picture below is me and trito celebrating:

After CGS had suddenly closed, I found myself looking for work and typically, it was very difficult to get work in Sweden. I did however manage to find a job in Germany which I am very lucky for! I started working there in early December, and I was back in Sweden over Christmas and New Year to finalize the move.
So far, I have been living in a hotel and finally last Friday I have found an apartment. I don’t know how long it will be until I will be set up there with internet and even furniture, but fingers crossed it goes smoothly and doesn’t end up being too expensive. So far I think that it will probably need several stops at IKEA but to be totally honest i’m not really a girl who would enjoy those visits as much as most others. I guess it’s only fun when you don’t have a budget
So the question that most people have asked me about this move is; “ARE YOU SERIOUSLY GOING TO TAKE PURRI OUT OF SWEDEN!??!”. Well to answer that, as much as I tried to convince him to stay, he also wanted to come along and experience the German lifestyle with me.
So PURRI and I drove for 16 hours from Sweden to Germany. We decided not to take any furniture with us, so we wouldn’t have to drive with a trailer. I’d say it was a miracle that we fit everything in the car, but we didn’t, and we still need some boxes shipped from Sweden
So far we have agreed on the following things being better than Sweden:
As much as I hate to bitch about moving, it is truly one thing I hate doing. Between carrying stuff, figuring out what fits where and buying new IKEA furniture that just breaks after 6 months, moving is just hell for me. Where can I hire some hot, buff, shirtless men to do this task for me?! But i’m really looking forward to having a place to call home, and i’m also really looking forward to having a real kitchen!! YES… I CANT WAIT TO COOK!!
The town we’re living in is basically the German eqivilent of Sodertalje but a little bigger. Since we’re about 2.5 – 3 hours from Holland, I really hope my visits there will be more frequent.
Anyway, I’m really looking forward to hopefully building a bit of a life here, making new friends and learning some German. So far, mein deutsch ist nicht so gut! But they voice over everything on TV here and no one has really good english so i’m forced to learn some. It’s just that since I spend so much time in the office, everyone there speaks english anyway, so i’m gonna have to stop nerding out and go and be social with the locals! Wish me luck!
Oh by the way! I’ll try and post pictures up of my new apartment and from the trip down to Germany ASAP!
Hey Yasmine!
Its cool to hear you are still active in UT04. I havent played in a long time, maybe a year and a half (because of DoA4) but I absoloutly love this game too. I’ve been thinking about installing it again to play but things have been really crazy with moving and the new job these past few months. Maybe we can have a game sometime, are you in Holland?
Hey Liefje,
Yeah, you should definitely install it again. You have no idea what you’re missing! Unfortunately UT2004 isn’t as active as it used to be, but it’s still a great game nonetheless. I’m online around three/four times a week, mostly during the evenings. I’ve been playing on a great Dutch freon server, called [CORE] Freon. Many great and nice guys there, even when I have 7 kills and 26 deaths, they still remain nice lol. I’m basically the only girl playing there, next to one other, such a bummer. Check it out sometime!
Tell me when you have it installed again, and we could definitely play a game!
Oh, and yep I’m from Holland.
Hey Liefje!
I don´t know if you remember me, but you are one of the creators and first supporters of my clan and it´s name
BEER*, you remember? Recently SixFeet- named you, in relation to our clanhistory. Here is the quote:
“Not seen Liefje in forever man. Suppose she was busy with CGS playing DOA for Berlin Allianz. Wonder what she has been upto since CGS went tits up?”
So yeah, I am just here to show you, that we are still active and remember you!
I am glad that you are well. Remember one clan meta? Ah, maybe you were already gone doing your own stuff back then, like the magazine or the DOA thing. But I invented a few rules. One of them is that I wish that my clanmates, proceed in their life and achieve every goal they set themselves. Even hard ones. Just not fall behind.
It is interesting to see, that you moved to Germany. And if I suppose that you mean with Frankfurt, Frankfurt am Main and not Frankfurt (Oder), then you aren´t that far away, since I moved also from Berlin to Karlsruhe, from the north to the south in mid 2008. Maybe we can meet somewhere, somewhen, somehow if you don´t refuse it
Moving away can be very exhausting. But it pays off.
About gaming: As said before, my clan is still active and after some ups and downs, where we often went into the finals and did not manage it to win them by one small mistake. But now we are going to play this season in the first division the second time in a small CTF cup, out of four divisions. Compared to the first time we played in the first division, which was our second CTF cup, this time our team is more stable. And at least me, I am a little bit nervous, because the first match will be against a mixteam, consisting of some of the best players the UT2k4 CTF community ever had And every other match will be damn close. I guess you know that kind of thoughts and feelings, because you have been to more competitions with more public interest than we have been to, right?
Enough of nerd stuff.
My own appartment, actually a flat share -.- needs some refurbishment, but after that has been done, you can come along. Yeah, I´m damn serious about that
It´ll soon be done. Currently only people who don´t fear the death can enter my place xO
Well, I can´t really think about writing more for now, since it´s quite late.
Ciao,

Hey girl!
You are simply awesome! It’s so cool to see other ladies who love shooters and video games as much as I do.
Anyhow, I’m a female too, and absolutely love UT2004. I’m still active and play a lot of Instagib and Freon. Do you still play UT04 as well? =)
