It’s been a really exciting few days for gaming, as far as QuakeLive is concerned anyway! A few days ago they made the beta (which has been closed for like a year now) public, and it’s been nuts trying to get on a server. Although they have improved a lot on the queues (now I think I have waited max. 30 minutes) i’m still extremely excited about the final release. With QuakeLive going open beta now, more and more leagues and tournaments are springing up and I can’t wait until the first LAN tournaments — namely Quakecon!
That also brings me to my second thing I have to say: A few weeks ago I received a calendar in the mail from the girls at Charisma +2. This is a gamers agency which I have signed up for, and the month of August (Quakecon month) is totally awesome!! In fact, the whole calendar is really great and I am so happy to be part of such a beautiful and talented group of girls. If you wish to purchase a calendar or even have one signed by one of the models, you can check them out here!
Ok, enough plugs about that
Back to QuakeLive! Since the queues were fixed, I spent the majority of my weekend playing Clan Arena. I know I should be practicing duels (i’m playing in the ESL QuakeLive 1v1 ladder so challenge me if you want some points right now! haha
) but I really like CA to get me accustomed to the movement and the weapons. The priciples of 1v1 are the same in UT and Quake so hopefully if I can get good at the movement and the weapons, the rest will come easily!
I am however looking for someone who has the time (and patience) to train me properly in QuakeLive 1v1, so if you are kind enough and think you can, please leave a comment, add “Liefje” on QuakeLive or email me. I’m really serious about this, I’ll make up a schedule, make sure i’m at prac on time and everything!
I know!! Sad right?
