With the lack of updates I think you can all guess that I haven’t had a very exciting or eventful summer.

Cologne hasn’t really been as exciting as everyone thinks it will be. I think I just got caught up in the hype brought on by all these people who come from shit small towns who think “OMG now i’m in the big bad city I can do anything”. Well you can’t. The closest lake is still 30 mins drive away, stores still close at 20.00 and still nothing is ever open on Sunday. So how exciting is the city now? Yeah, thought so.

To the topic at hand – I finally was able to take my first holiday in 9 months!! With the companies switching from EOL to eSI and all that stuff, I didn’t get any holidays from EOL and when it came to taking holidays from eSI it felt weird to ask as I felt that in a small company its really important for every person to be there. But when it comes to my birthday it’s been 3 years since i’ve had a birthday with family and its very important to me. So I took 5 days off and went to Sicily.

First I had to make a stop in Milano to attend the Homeless World Cup. They are a charity that our work is supporting. It was really great to watch the event and I have to say that I feel really happy to be supporting such an important cause.

But on a very important note, my stop in Milano meant that I got to meet the wonderful Elena “Videl” Anana (ok thts not really her last name but its cute, right?). She has been a member of the girlz 0f destruction for about 6 months and has played Quake Live with us in the ESL and Clanbase CA and TDM tournaments. Anyway she was super sweet and I hope we can meet again at Dreamhack.

Then after work stuff in Milan, I went on to Sicily to relax on the beach and celebrate my birthday. I finally got a cake for the first time in 3 years!! YAY FOR CAKE!

Anyway I guess its back to the daily grind until Christmas… unless we can get some sponsors for Dreamhack Winter! Who’s willing?
