For years now (since 2002!) i’ve been using the same computer mouse for gaming. I’ve tried several times to make the switch to the newer technologies but I always (like a stupid woman) come crawling back to the Microsoft intellimouse 3.0.
Sure it may not have all the bells and whistles like these new mice, its still using optical technology (who really needs 10,000,000 dpi?), I can’t have my nickname written on the bottom of it, and it doesn’t have a pro-gamers face on the side of the packaging.
I love the 3.0. The last one I had was a christmas gift from my boyfriend upon the re-release of the 3.0 – I think it would be 2006. Since then I took great care of my baby (the mouse, not the boyfriend) until a few months ago when I decided it was time for a new one. The paint was wearing down on the buttons and the scrolling was really lose.
So I bought a new one a couple of months ago…. somehow i’m in need of yet another new one. So far the mouse is working just without the scrolling option.
So my question to you – is there really a replacement for the 3.0? The last “new” mouse I tried was the Razer Copperhead so it’s been a while. Has something come out that is even worthy to look at? Does something even come close to the familiar caress of the gentle and reliable 3.0?
By the way, I was at the “largest Saturn in Germany” (its like a big electronics store) and they sure enough had ALL mice EXCEPT the 3.0! Disgusting.
