Facebook thinks you’re a dumbf**k
Lately i’ve been thinking about deleting my facebook account and this makes me want to all the more.
This morning the founder of facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, got into trouble over some IMs he sent back in 2004. At that time, Facebook was just for Harvard students and Mark was still a teenager. But even then he knew the potential that Facebook had.
This conversation was between Mark and an unnamed friend:
Zuck: Yeah so if you ever need info about anyone at Harvard
Zuck: Just ask.
Zuck: I have over 4,000 emails, pictures, addresses, SNS
[Redacted Friend's Name]: What? How’d you manage that one?
Zuck: People just submitted it.
Zuck: I don’t know why.
Zuck: They “trust me”
Zuck: Dumb fucks
Even though it’s quite crude how he puts it, he’s right. The information that people voluntarily submit to facebook has made him a very rich man.
Be careful with everything you upload online! Do you have a facebook account? Will you be keeping it?

He is right, but it’s up to ‘us’ to decide what info to give out. Those who gave FB every piece of info that they could are the dumb ones, IMO.
